Never a Dull Moment... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another sick kid.... When it rains, it literally pours in my household. Last week is was Taylor's seizures rearing there ugly heads again and now Aidan seems to be fighting off some type of viral infection. Last night after Taylor's party ended we noticed that he was hot - when we took his temp it was 104.6, so I immediately gave him some Motrin. He was a bit fussy at bedtime, so he slept with us. This morning he seemed ok, but once we got to Taylor's school for her party he was inconsolable. We stayed for about 25 minutes and then left to go home and get him some medicine. His temp was 104.7 and he was shivering non-stop. By the time Steve got him to the ER his temp was 106.5 and most of his body was blood red. They gave him Motrin immediately and hooked him up to an IV. Most of the test results came back normal (still waiting on the cultures), except his white blood count was alittle low so he got a dose of Rosefin (sp?) through his IV and they sent us home. They said that if his temp spikes back up that high to bring him back in and for us to follow-up with his pediatrician tomorrow. I think this is going to be a very long night. 8:30 pm - 10/03/2005 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
