Never a Dull Moment... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall everything went well.... Today's appointment went pretty well. The doctor seems to think that there's no concern of kidney stones since Aidan's only been on the diet for 2 months (actually a few days shy), but he went ahead and got a urine sample and wants Aidan to have an ultrasound done to make sure. He said kidney stones become a factor after being on the diet for about 6 months, so he wants us to come back for a follow-up then. I'll make his ultrasound appointment in a few days. The best thing that happened today was when I went into the Prosthetic/Orthotics office to talk with Mr. Hamilton and he said that I've had enough of a go around with trying to get Aidan his braces that he wanted me to come back in 30 minutes and he would make the braces for me. So the braces are now made and Aidan should receive them in 3-4 weeks. While waiting for the braces to be done - there we were among 10 men that all obviously came back from Iraq waiting to be fitted for or have repair done to their prosthetic limbs. It made me realize that even though we're going through alot with Aidan there are definitely ALOT more people with worse medical problems than us. Most of them had good spirits, but a few you could tell were pi$$ed with the world for the hand that they've been dealt. 7:56 pm - 02/22/2006 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
