Never a Dull Moment... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stronger than MOST adults..... My son will NEVER cease to amaze me at the stuff he goes through without showing an ounce of pain. He woke up Saturday morning moaning and groaning like kids do when they go through "growing pains" and since he has grown 3 inches in 2 1/2 months we didn't think much about it. That was until he started throwing up. When we went to bathe him he had a diaper full of blood which made us automatically know what was going on - he had a kidney stone. Yes, a 28 month old with a 2.8mm stone lodged in his right kidney. Of course our LOCAL ER could do NOTHING because of his age, so off to Georgetown University Hospital where the famous "Stone Doctor" works and Sunday morning he had a stent placed to drain the blockage that the stone was causing and in 2 weeks the stone & stent will be removed. So the treatment that was supposed to be started Oct. 2 or Oct. 9th will now be delayed until the end of October, because he can't be on steroids during the procedure. So it looks like we still might be able to go on our vacation it will just be cut short by a few days, which really maes driving there a pain for only 4 days, but it's better than NOT going at all. Well I'm off to run errands, LATER!!! 9:42 am - 09/26/2006 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
